Concept Development

During my study abroad in Paris, I fell in love with the work of Claude Monet after visiting the Musée de l'Orangerie. I developed this concept because another form of art I escape into is music—something that has guided me through difficult times. This collection is rooted in the idea of escapism: immersing yourself in art to eventually find peace within your own journey.
I chose blue as the central color because, with only four garments this semester, using multiple colors could distract from the narrative. Blue also holds personal meaning, this collection is seen through my perspective, and blue reflects the color of my own eyes.
