Geanna Luna
Paris Study Abroad Spring 2025
During my study abroad at the Paris American Academy in Paris, France, I had the opportunity to work closely with several designers during Paris Couture Fashion Week 2025. I assisted designer Winsel Milien in the preparation and construction of his collection and worked with Global Fashion Collective for their three-day showcase. These experiences taught me how to work efficiently under pressure, maintain a fast pace, and ensure each garment was finished to a professional standard.
Global Fashion Collective
During Paris Couture Fashion Week 2025, I volunteered backstage with Global Fashion Collective, an organization that supports designers from around the world in showcasing their work. I was assigned to assist specific designers, helping with model fittings, outfit changes, and last-minute alterations—whether by hand or machine. I also coordinated quick changes and queued models for the runway. This experience strengthened my ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt in a fast-paced fashion show environment.

Wisnel Milien
During Paris Fashion Couture Week 2025, I volunteered for Winsel Milien, assisting in the creation of their collection. My responsibilities included pattern making, machine sewing, and hand sewing garments. This experience gave me valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes process of couture design, while also teaching me to work under pressure with precision and attention to detail.
In the first image, I hand-sewed the dress onto the metal neckline piece. In the second and third images, I assembled and sewed the skirt of the dress. I also assisted with patternmaking and helped construct several pieces throughout the collection.
