Dreamgirls

I was given the script for Dreamgirls, where I analyzed Diana’s and Effie’s scenes to identify each moment of costume changes. Working with a partner, I designed and created a dress for Effie for her scene in the Act I finale. Below is the illustration and the finalized garment. During this project, I worked with a plus-size mannequin for draping, sewed embellished fabric, and hand-stitched additional details.

The Glass Menagerie

For The Glass Menagerie, we analyzed the play and were each assigned two characters; I worked on Jim and Amanda. I broke down the script to develop costume designs for each of their scenes, shown below. To bring the looks to life, I included fabric swatches, reference images, and accessories that supported my design choices.
